Collective Members
YBP is an all-volunteer collective organization, and everyone is welcome to join. Just contribute 24 hours of volunteer time during each 3 month rolling time period, and come to a collective meeting to announce your intention to be a part of the collective.
Collective members have an equal voice in making decisions at our monthly meeting, and gain other perks such as access to all parts and tools, and reduced prices on new parts. Most collective members eventually become coordinators, volunteering their time to help keep the shop open.
There are no directors or designated leaders of the project; everyone has equal power. Representatives and coordinators must seek approval from the collective prior to taking action on major decisions. All decisions are made through consensus of the collective. The entire group must agree on a decision before it is carried out. Concerns are addressed until a compromise is reached.
