Yellow Bike turns 15!

May 13th, 2012

Can you believe it’s been fifteen years since the first fleet of Yellow Bikes was released into the wild for all to ride?  We’ve come an awful long way from painting Huffys in backyards to the truly amazing community bike shop we now call home, and you’re invited to join us at Webberville on Saturday, May 19, 7pm to celebrate the milestone.  There’ll be music from our brassy buddies Minor Mishap Marching Band, our second annual Austin Bike Zoo cargo bike raffle, the greasy-geared gospel of the YBP Bike Choir, plus tasty truck tacos for sale alongside horchata and ice cold Live Oak cerveza for your Quinceañera refreshment.  YBP has flourished for fifteen years because of the all the hard work and love devoted to it by people like you, so we hope you can come join us in celebrating all that we’ve accomplished together!

Drawing will be held at 9pm; you MUST be present to win.  Purchase raffle tickets in advance online or at at the party before the drawing takes place.  Good luck!

City of Austin Urban Forestry Survey

            April 11th, 2012

Austin’s Urban Forestry Board and City of Austin staff are developing a Comprehensive Urban Forest Plan for all city-managed property, as directed by Austin City Code § 6-3-5.

A comprehensive urban forest plan takes into consideration all resources related to the urban forest and because people are part of this resource, a measure of public opinion and values is essential for determining how urban forest decisions are made.

Please complete the following survey. The data collected will guide our Urban Forestry Board and city staff in making decisions about the Comprehensive Urban Forest Plan and its implementation.

This survey contains 42 questions (some are multi-part questions) and should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Your input is greatly appreciated.

The survey will close on April 23rd, 2012 at 10am
